Bunn Nagara is senior fellow at ISIS Malaysia and honorary research fellow at the Perak Academy. He edited a review of Malaysian foreign policy and led a study of Timor Leste’s compatibility with ASEAN membership. He was ASEAN Fellow at ISEAS (Singapore) and research fellow at the Japan Institute of International Affairs. He was editor at Moderation Monitor, New Voice of Asia, South Review, New Sabah Times and Star Publications, and ABC regional analyst. An award-winning journalist, Nagara contributed analyses to Asiaweek, Daily Yomiuri, Business Times (Singapore), Jakarta Post, CGTN and Aljazeera, published papers and book chapters, and presented seminars to Malaysian police and military officers. A life member of the Malaysian Social Science Association and the Malaysian Association for American Studies, his interests include East Asian integration, regional security and grand strategy. He graduated from Southampton University and with a postgraduate diploma in conflict resolution from Uppsala University.
