Requirements
- Degree in international relations, security studies or a foreign policy-related field of study from a recognised university
- Those with other academic qualifications and relevant professional and subject matter experience are also encouraged to apply
- The ability to utilise multi-disciplinary perspectives is a bonus, such as those from social sciences and information technology
- Work experience of between 3 and 5 years for analyst-level applicants, and 1 and 3 years for researcher-level applicants in a direct or related field. Preference for those with public policy experience
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods
- Willingness to manage and convene policy dialogues and roundtables
- Excellent command of written and oral English, and good command of written and oral Bahasa Malaysia. Working proficiency in other languages is a bonus
- Good communication, public speaking and presentation skills
- Able to work independently and in multi-disciplinary teams
Key responsibilities
- Conduct independent research and analyses on various issues of interest related to cyber, security and public policy
- Produce research output, including academic papers, policy briefs, think pieces and presentations
- Monitor global, regional and national technology developments on a regular and timely basis
- Plan and organise conferences, roundtables, seminars and forums on cyber and digital issues
- Engage in ISIS Malaysia’s Track Two diplomacy activities with international and regional counterparts
- Assist in the preparation of high-level speeches, lectures and presentations
- Perform any other task as required by management

- Degree in a sustainability related field of study, including energy and climate change from a recognised university. An advanced degree is desirable.
- Work experience of between 5 and 7 years for senior analyst applicants, and 3-4 years for analyst applicants in a direct or related field. Those with public policy experience have an advantage.
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods is required.
- Experience in project management and consultancy highly advantageous.
- Having established areas of specialisation in climate mitigation and energy transition highly desirable.
- Track record of past publications related to energy and decarbonisation and/or public policy would be an advantage.
- Excellent command of written and oral English, and good command of written and oral Bahasa Malaysia; working proficiency in other languages is desirable.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
Key Responsibilities

Requirements

- Work experience of between 4 and 6 years for analyst-level applicants, and 1 and 3 years for researcher-level applicants in a direct or related field. Those with prior public policy experience have an advantage
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with statistical analyses and software packages, especially Stata and/or R
- Track record of publications related to economics and/or public policy
- Established areas of specialisations/interest within economics and public policy
- Excellent command of written and oral English, and good command of written and oral Bahasa Malaysia. Working proficiency in other languages
- Good communication, public speaking and presentation skills

The Economics, Trade and Regional Integration (ETRI) team is seeking candidates with excellent quantitative, qualitative and writing skills, and background in economics and/or public policy.
Requirement
- Degree in economics or an economics-related field of study from a recognised university. An advanced degree is desirable
Experience
- More than 10 years’ experience in analytical work, policy formulation, application of economic principles in development programmes related to ETRI
- Managing work programmes
- Leading or coordinating analytical publications
- Providing substantive support to governmental processes and meetings in development-related areas
- Securing, leading or coordinating projects
Key responsibilities
- Directs and manages the team
- Contributes to the formulation of overall strategies
- Formulates and implements the substantive and capacity development work programme of the team under his/her supervision, determining priorities, and allocating resources
- Completion of outputs and their timely delivery
- Organisation and direct the team at international, regional, inter-agencies meetings, seminars and conferences
- Formulates, facilitates and participates in national and international forums and conferences
- Provides guidance to the team’s publication activities
- Manages, guides, develops and trains staff under his/her supervision; foster teamwork and communication among staff across organisational boundaries
- Evaluation of staff performance, interviews and evaluates candidates for ETRI job openings
- Performs other related duties as requested by the senior management
