ISIS Forum – The Foreign Policy Speaker Series
on
Managing Humanitarian Crises
Political considerations, international human rights law and the strength of a united global community are all factors to discuss in the face of global humanitarian crises. The new US administration has pledged to re-engage with the United Nations Human Rights Council and pursue multilateral support for human rights, while in Malaysia, the government has expressed willingness to facilitate discussions in conflict-ridden areas.
Join us as we discuss what nation-states can do to manage humanitarian crises effectively, and if there is truth to the truism that international human rights law is a toothless tiger.
