ISIS Malaysia Delegation Visit to Hainan, Zhuhai and Guangzhou, People’s Republic of China

    From 4-9 August 2019, a delegation of five ISIS Malaysia representatives visited Hainan, Zhuhai and Guangzhou at the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA) on 4 August until 9 August 2019. This visit takes place based on the MoU between CPIFA and ISIS Malaysia which falls under the latter’s China Engagement Initiative (CEI).

    The delegation was led by Tan Sri Rastam Mohd Isa, Chairman and Chief Executive of ISIS Malaysia. He was accompanied by ISIS Malaysia’s research staff, namely, Alizan Mahadi, Fellow, TIES, Shahriman Lockman, Fellow, FPSS, Thomas Benjamin Daniel, Senior Analyst, FPSS and Naufal Fauzi, Researcher, FPSS.

    The aim of the visit was to convene the 5th Seminar on China – Malaysia Relations and deliberate how both countries can better achieve mutually beneficial outcomes from the 45 years of China – Malaysia diplomatic relations, and among other possible avenues of cooperation throughout the visit.
