Yvonne Tan

Yvonne’s research interests include labour and migration, health and socioeconomic equity, and political economy within Southeast Asia. She works at the intersection of research and policy development on projects spanning participatory action research concerning refugee community health, forced displacement and labour migration reforms at Monash University and United Nations University-International Institute for Global Health. She also believes our past informs our future and has published on cultural studies related to the dynamics of challenging imperial inequalities and processes of political change. Her work has been featured in Astro Awani, MalaysiaNow and Malaysiakini. She graduated with a Master’s in Southeast Asian Studies from Goethe University Frankfurt.
