Dr Sovacool is a researcher, author and consultant on energy policy and governance.  His work covers issues pertaining to renewable energy, the politics of large-scale energy infrastructure and building adaptive capacity to the consequences of climate change. He has also served in research and advisory capacities for many state, national and international institutions. In 2012, Dr Sovacool was invited by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to be a contributing author to its Working Group II, which deals with climate change mitigation. He has authored 8 books and more than 100 scientific articles.
