Welcome to the East Asia Economic Centre (EAEC) at ISIS Malaysia.
The EAEC was established in 2003 to be a regional focal point for research into the East Asia region, a region that is among the fastest growing in the world and which is integrating at a very rapid rate.
Our aim is simple: to promote substantive cooperation that will ultimately fuse the region into a peaceful, prosperous and progressive economic, social and political community of sovereign nations.
We do not underestimate the considerable challenges. At the same time, however, we see enormous opportunities and possibilities. Throughout East Asia today, there is already a growing consciousness of our regional interdependence and consensus on the need for regional approaches.
The EAEC engages in independent policy-oriented studies, conferencing and networking. A core activity is the organisation of the East Asia Congress, an annual quadripartite gathering of policymakers, scholars, the private sector and the media.
