This series comprises various lectures by world statesmen in the course of their visits to ISIS and participation at ISIS conferences.

Issue Papers

Comprises articles generated contemporaneously in response to key issues of the day, both on the national and international fronts.

Opinion

The opinions of individuals with wide expertise in their respective fields. The opinions are often issued in response to immediate problems.

Research Notes

The research notes of both ISIS staffers as well as ISIS-related individuals. It offers more detailed analysis of issues which have a significant bearing on the national and international scenes.

ASEAN Series

Articles relating to ASEAN. The wide-ranging scope encompasses articles of historical and current interest on subjects such as shipping, the military, nuclear-weapons, free trade zones and energy co-operation.

Pacific Papers

The Pacific is growing in importance and the common belief is that the 21st Century will be the Pacific Century. This series comprises articles that explore military and strategic issues as they affect the Asia-Pacific.

International Economic Issue Papers

Articles that explore key macro-economic questions that have a bearing on the international economy. These include the economic management policies of the United States and Japan and the Third World debt problem.

South-South Series

South-South co-operation is an important area of work within ISIS. This series comprises articles on ways to enhance South-South co-operation and the North-South dialogue.

Short and informative articles on European current affairs.

Seminar Papers

Papers presented at ISIS seminars organised to discuss issues of the day. The wide-ranging selection includes papers on oil prices, the tin crisis, federalism, university places and privatisation.

TV Forums

Full transcripts of the many TV Forums that have been held in conjunction with ISIS meetings. The participants are prominent individuals who attend such meetings and the issues are current and topical.

Japan Lecture Series

Texts of lectures delivered at the Japan Lecture Series organised by the Centre for Japan Studies (CJS) at ISIS Malaysia. CJS was established in January 1991 to undertake research on Japan, provide opportunities for more information exchange and discussion about the country and to disseminate the knowledge to a wider audience.Prominent speakers are invited to speak on topics of current interest pertaining to the role of Japan in the modern world.

Japan Research Series

This series covers various issues pertaining to Japan, Japan-Malaysia relations and Japan-Southeast Asia relations. It focusses on trade, investment, finance technology, tourism, human resource development, official development assistance, and politics, defence and security.

The Asia-Pacific Roundtable

A forum for informal exchanges of views among scholars and practitioners on issues of peace and security which are critical issues of concern in the region. The Roundtable is unique in that it is the only instituition in the world that brings together all the adversary nations in the region to talk about what they think of some of the prevailing tensions and conflicts in the region, how these tensions can be reduced, how confidence can be built, and conflicts resolved.

The Way Forward >> Vision 2020

The purpose of this paper is to present before you some thoughts on the future course of our nation and how we should go about to attain our objective of developing Malaysia into an industrialised country. Also outlined are some measures that should be in place in the shorter term so that the foundations can be laid for the long journey towards that ultimate objective.
