Ms. Norhayati Mustapha Norhayati Mustapha, Senior Analyst, joined ISIS in 1994 upon optional retirement from the Department of Environment (DOE), where her last posting was as Principal Assistant Director (Development) at DOE Headquarters. Her research work in ISIS includes an EPU-commissioned study on 'Energy Policy Analysis and Planning Towards 2020', 1995, and a UNCTAD-commissioned study on 'Trade and Environment Linkages for Selected Malaysian Industries', 1996. She helped organise a Workshop on the National Policy on the Environment in 1994 and was involved in coordinating UNDP-funded projects aimed at capacity building in environmental management. A regular contributor to the “Top News on Environment in Asia”, an annual publication of the Japan-based Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), she reports from time to time for the in-house “ISIS Focus”. She holds a BSc. (Hons) degree in Chemical Engineering (1977), with a Diploma in Industrial Studies from Loughborough University of Technology, UK, and a Masters degree in Water and Wastewater Engineering (1981) from the Asian Institute of Technology. In 2001, upon completing a thesis on “Religion and Environment”, she received a Diploma in Islamic Studies from the International Islamic University. |
