Dr. Larry Chee-Yoong Wong Dr Larry Wong has a PhD in Economics from University of Kent-at-Canterbury, England; Masters in Agricultural Economics and Business Management from University of New England, Australia; and Bachelors in Agricultural Science (Hons) from University of Malaya, Malaysia. He has over 30 years operational experience in business and development planning, implementation and policy analysis. He has rejoined the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS) as Senior Fellow in late 2004. He has worked in the private sector, focusing on International Business for Padiberas Nasional Berhad (BERNAS) between 1996 and 2004. He has also held various senior management and research positions in the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI); Economic Planning Unit (EPU) of Prime Minister’s Department; and Ministry of Agriculture. He has acted as Consultant to the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, UNDP-IBRD Cooperative Programme and the private sector. Key areas of interest and expertise include developing and managing agri-food supply chains and international production and trading networks; economies in transition; the rise of supermarkets; and biotechnology. |
